Characterization of freely dispersing gas clouds is a challenging task. The large area covered and uneven distribution of these fast moving entities makes conventional ground based techniques inappropriate in some cases. This application note presents how the targeting and acquisition mode, a unique feature of the Telops Hyper-Cam airborne platform, provides valuable time-dependent information on gas cloud dispersion such as the origin of the gas leak, the gas cloud direction and its velocity.
